In the fast-paced world of trading, staying informed about economic events is crucial. A reliable economic calendar is one of a trader's most valuable tools, keeping you aware of important upcoming events that can impact market volatility.
Customize Your Calendar Experience
Want to tailor the calendar to your needs? Check out the video below to learn how to set up and use our real-time economic calendar by event impact, country, and more.
Set Your Time Zone and Preferences
Our economic calendar automatically displays events in your device's time zone. To ensure it's set correctly, look at the top tab where you can adjust the date range (from daily to next month) and check the calendar clock. Click on the clock to open the time zone pop-up. From there, choose your preferred time zone and time format (24-hour or AM/PM), then click the blue Save button.
Filter Events to Focus on What Matters
Click the "Filter" symbol on the top tab (the icon with three lines) to customize the events displayed. You can select the event impact levels—high and medium impacts are always recommended—and choose which countries' economic events to include. We suggest selecting major economies like the USA, UK, Eurozone, Japan, Australia, and Canada, as their economic releases can move the markets by hundreds of pips in minutes.
Monitor Market Impact at a Glance
As you monitor the real-time calendar, you'll notice color-coded indicators representing the potential market impact of each event. Red indicates high impact, while orange signifies medium impact.
Strategize Your Trades
Traders typically check upcoming economic events for two main reasons: to avoid having open trades during periods of high volatility, or to leverage that volatility for strategic entry and exit points on new or existing trades.
Our real-time economic calendar provides key values:
- Previous: Shows results from the previous period, which may be adjusted and cause unexpected volatility.
- Forecast: Displays consensus expectations from economic analysts.
- Actual: Reveals the actual reported value, which can significantly move markets if it differs from the forecast.
Dive Deeper into Economic Trends
Click on any event to open a pop-up featuring a chart of previous event values (orange line) and past forecasts (green dotted line). This is especially useful for tracking the progression of major economic indicators, such as the USA's Consumer Price Index (CPI), over the years.
Stay Ahead with Real-Time Updates
By utilizing our real-time economic calendar, you'll be better equipped to navigate market movements and make informed trading decisions.
Don't miss out on the events that could shape your trading day—customize your calendar now and stay ahead of the curve.
